Job Assistance

In order to work legally in Australia you will need to obtain an Australian Tax File Number (TFN) and/or Australian Business Number (ABN) in case of working independently. You will also need to have a local bank account in your name. Other documents we can assist you with include the RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol), police check, White Card, or working with children check, among others.

We can also help you revise your resume/CV and adapt it to the Australian resume/ CV format. A good resume is key in job hunting.

HANDY TIPS FOR FINDING WORK IN AUSTRALIA



Australia allows international students to work part time (40 hours every fortnight) during study periods and unlimited hours during holiday breaks.



The minimum salary is of approximately $19AUD per hour, and 1.5 to 2.5 times more for work during weekends and public holiday. Taxes generally depend on the length of your visa. We can assist you to avoid making mistakes.



International students usually work in restaurants (as waiters/waitresses, cooks, kitchen hands…) and in many services (i.e. child care, cleaning, sales, hotel housekeeping). A lot depends on each student’s level of English and previous work experience. One can also work independently and invoice for services provided with an ABN (Australian Business Number).



If you are entering Australia on a dependent visa, both the main applicant and the dependent have rights to work.
